LINUX Basics

                              INTRODUCTION TO LINUX
           
          Main points :

• Linux is not UNIX.
• UNIX was created by AT and T amployees in 1969, Linux was written by a single man named Linus Trovald around 1991.
• Linux comes in many varieties, which are called distributions: Fedora, Mint and Debian .
• Even android is a Linux Distribution.

           

Basics Commands:

• pwd   -   Print Working Directory
• ls       -    List Directory
• cd      -    Change Directory
• cp      -    Copy Files
• rm     -    Remove or Delete Files 
• mkdir -   Make Directory 
• rmdir  -   Remove Directory
• cls      -   Clear The Screen
• rename - Rename a file
• rd         - Remove Directory
• print     - Prints the specified file

2. Public Caches at places like the Internet Archieve at https://archive.org/ You can find cached versions of whole websites from over the years. Which can be useful for information that has "disappeared".
